My Expertise

In my practice I specialize in providing evidence-based treatments. My style is flexible and integrative, and my expertise allows me to spontaneously utilize tools from various treatments depending on your needs. I work with each client to develop a personalized treatment plan that serves as our roadmap. My approach is collaborative, emotionally attuned, solutions-oriented, and validating.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidenced based treatment that is used to address a wide range of psychological challenges, including but not limited to mood disorders, anxiety, and depression. CBT is generally time-limited, present-focused, structured, and skills based. The primary focus is to build awareness around thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in order to implement skills to develop healthier or more effective patterns of thinking and acting.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy that was created by Marsha Linehan, Ph.D. to treat suicidal individuals diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).  It has since been modified for children and adolescents and shown to be effective for the treatment of a wide range of psychological problems, including eating disorders, substance abuse, and PTSD. It is a skills-based approach for individuals experiencing intense and overwhelming emotions. I do not offer a comprehensive DBT program; however, I do provide DBT-informed care as well as individual skills training.

Trauma Focused Treatment

There are a variety of evidence-based treatments to address trauma symptoms, and I focus on providing Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). CPT is a treatment for adults who are struggling with psychological distress after experiencing an extremely stressful or traumatic event. The treatment protocol focuses on helping people to make sense of a traumatic event as well as adopt more effective beliefs around themselves, the world, and their future. TF-CBT is a treatment for children ages 3-18 who have directly experienced or witnessed a traumatic event. Treatment offers children and their parents tools to address symptoms and to improve communication around the traumatic event.

Psychedelic Preparation and Integration

Psychedelic preparation and integration supports people in the before and after having a psychedelic experience. Psychedelics can offer a variety of experiences ranging from transformative to neutral and everything in between. Preparation and integration work is vital to promoting safety, personal growth and creating connections between the psychedelic experience and your every day life.
